Karen is more than a checker at Stater Brothers in Placentia. Karen is the kind of person you wish all people would be. When our car broke down one Sunday morning, and didn't have a cell phone, she was there to help us get in touch with a tow truck. Over the summer Karen shopped for supplies for our classroom, donating a box full of pencils, notebooks, crayons, markers and other supplies. We go to Karen's box whenever we're short on something. Below are a few letters that show how much her generosity has meant to us. A few of the children also mention "Our Tree." Karen also donated the huge tree that stands in our classroom. The kids love reading under the tree and is where we meet as a group. From all of us Karen, love and our sincerest appreciation.
Happy Thanksgiving from Karen:
Happy thanksgiving to Mr. Valdez's class! I hope all of you enjoy your time away from school and with your families and loved ones. Eat lots of turkey and pumpkin pie and remember to be thankful for what you have. There will always be people with more than you, but more importantly, there are always people with less than you so be thankful. This is the time to remember that. Enjoy your weekend and be safe.

Letter from Karen:
Hi to Room #307, What a treat it was to read all of your nice letters. You all have such nice writing and some of you drew some sweet pictures. I'm so happy to be able to give Mr. Valdez some supplies for your room. I know he is a good teacher and he cares about all of you very much. Maybe one day when all of you are grown up you might be able to give some school supplies to a classroom that needs them. Keep working hard at your studies!
